The Australian Research Network for Earth System Science ceased to operate on 30 June 2010.
This website will continue to be hosted at Macquarie University indefinitely as a valuable resource to the science community.
This website will not be updated.
The Australian Research Council Research Network for Earth System Science (ARCNESS) links individuals and groups within Australia to explore the interaction between the oceans, atmosphere, biosphere and cryosphere.
The ARC Research Network for Earth System Science aims to integrate Australian university expertise with major government research groups, including ANSTO, CSIRO, Bureau of Meteorology and Antarctic Division. We are engaged with the Australian Community Climate and Earth System Simulator (ACCESS) to provide a strategy for linking data collection with parameterization development, and the links of these parameterizations into the developing ACCESS model for use by the climate impacts community. We also have a formal relationship with the Australian Partnership for Advanced Computing (APAC).
The ARC Research Network for Earth System Science is funded by the Australian Research Council with extensive support from universities, Government Research Laboratories and Agencies.
ARCNESS is financial supported and hosted at Macquarie University.
